Service Information Portal enables service providers to give their customers friendly, secure, and personalized visibility into their hosted environments. Based on data extracted from industry-leading HP OpenView products, Service Information Portal enables service providers to create customized web-based views for each customer or group of customers. For instance, available network information includes topology maps, events, performance summaries, and network device health, augmented by messages and other custom information. Service providers have a wide range of information that they want to provide to their customers. The generic module included with Service Information Portal provides a flexible means of extending the information the product provides. Examples include network performance graphs from third-party network trending tools, billing information, and many others. The methods for generating the HTML data used by the generic module include specifying a file that contains HTML, running a command that generates HTML, and specifying a remote URL.
