VMware Lab Manager add-in

The Genilogix VMware add-in for HP Quality Center extends HP Quality Center by allowing users to seamlessly automate operations in VMware Lab Manager from within the Quality Center user interface. Simply put, it creates a bridge between HP Quality Center and VMware Lab Manager, which gives your QA organization access to all of the tools in each of these applications in a single, easy to manage interface.

This enables HP Quality Center users to utilize VMware Lab Manager’s features such as virtual machine deployment, snapshot and LiveLink creation, and tear down of virtualized test environments, to shorten testing cycles and expedite software rollouts.

Another benefit of incorporating HP Quality Center into your testing environment is the robust test scheduling capabilities. The Test Lab module helps you schedule tests to run any time and almost anywhere on the network.

Because your team members can use HP TestDirector for Quality Center via the web, all members can access critical project information—regardless of geographic and organizational boundaries.

Using the Genilogix add-In, distributed test groups can create and manage reusable VMware Lab Manager (VLM) Operations within HP Quality Center.

Customers can integrate these VLM Operations into new and existing Test Sets to deploy virtual environments, execute tests and tear down the testing environments entirely within Quality Center. The coordination of virtual environments and automated testing further optimizes the testing process.

VMware Lab Manager Operations are defined as tests stored in the Test Plan module. These operations, along with automated tests such as ones created in HP QuickTest Professional or HP WinRunner, can be combined and executed within Test Sets. Being web-based, HP Quality Center and VMware Lab Manager allow QA teams from around the globe to turn around test cycles quickly while maintaining centralized control of testing and test environments.
